Specs – The Lenovo IdeaTab S5000’s 1280 x 800 pixel resolution is rich and crisp.  Best of all, at 8.6 ounces, the Lenovo IdeaTab S5000 can almost fit into your pocket.  The Lenovo IdeaTab S5000 dimensions are (L x W x H) 7.51 x 4.56 x 0.31 inches and it features an Integrated graphics coprocessor that delivers 1280 x 800 pixels of vibrant content on its 7 inch screen. With 8 hours (average) of battery life, a 2.0 USB port, and 5 MP Rear Webcam Resolution, the Lenovo IdeaTab S5000 has an 802.11bgn wireless on an Intel processor with DDR2 SDRAM1 GB memory and a 1.2 GHz Mediatek 8389 Quadcore Processor.

Strengths – The Lenovo IdeaTab S5000 has many strengths and design is one of them.  The tablet is thin and light, and simply looks more expensive than it is.  The Jelly Bean 4.2 operating system has great response, and manages its power well, enabling most users to watch 4 to 6 hours of movies on the battery without a need to recharge.  Web and video response is fast and reliable, and the YouTube app functions without problems. Users also report a responsive touch screen and amply-sized keypad.  Many are impressed with front and rear cameras and picture quality, reporting that unlike most tablets which produce fuzzy pictures, the Lenovo IdeaTab S5000 picture quality is quite clear. Additionally, Lenovo’s customer service is fast and happy to help.

Weaknesses – The Lenovo IdeaTab S5000 does not have many downsides, and its few weaknesses are easily remedied.  Some users complain that they dislike the transfer software loaded into the tablet.  This is compensated by simply using Android for file management and transfers. Also, some sites require a different flash plugin than is offered with the Ideatab.  This is remedied by updating its capabilities. Also, since the Ideatab does not have a MicroSD card, users will need to use a shared drive on their computers to store files. Unfortunately, some users have found that the Ideatab can freeze and requires shut down and reboot to fix the problem.  Others have found that there is a lag when scrolling through the books.

Outstanding Features – The Lenovo IdeaTab S5000 stands out from the rest on three key issues.  The design, weight and size of this impressive little tablet truly are fantastic.  You will not find anything comparable for the price.  Also, the Ideatab’s battery is strong and long-running, providing up to 2 movie’s worth of power.  What sets the Lenovo IdeaTab S5000 apart from the rest; however is its price.  For less than $150, you can purchase an attractive, powerful, long-running tablet that will provide many of the benefits of your laptop or personal computer.
